After the rain and winds of the last few days it was good to get outside again and see how the views along the footpaths had fared. This sketchbook note will remind me of the fresh greens in the foliage and the fields of buttercups. The forecast for tomorrow is good so I'm hoping to take easel, hat and bug repellent and do some painting (provided the wind has dropped)

April 16
Along one of the many footpaths in the area around my home. It's always a joy to walk and sketch and the weather has been lovely. Unfortunately my throat has been so dry and sore it was really difficult to swallow, so reluctantly I did not stay out as long as usual.

From the footpath
From the footpath
watercolour on paper
5.75 x 7.75 inches
(10 x 12 inches mounted)
I liked the arrangement of the outbuildings here and the surprising colours in the background. A little difficulty in resting my drawing board on the fence, but it was too windy for an easel !
