Over the road

Over the road

A little from the window of the village hall where I hold my weekly classes.
The colours are so fresh at this time of year.
As I finished and cleared up the class stuff and loaded the car, spots of rain began to fall.

Daffodils from the garden

Lovely to be able to paint my favourite flowers from right
outside the front door. They bring such cheer each year with their confirmation that winter is officially over and the promise of much beauty in the days to come.

Spring blossom

Spring seems to have sprung right on time, though there wasn't much sun around this morning. Some daffodils are coming out in the garden and lots more all ready to burst open. Now might be the time to try and capture some of the early colour before the April winds blow it all away.

Early Geranium

Early Geranium

I take it as a good sign that everything is ok with the world when my geriatric Geranium awakes from its slumber and starts to flower again, adding a splash of colour to the kitchen windowsill.  There are five further buds on other branches of this venerable plant which probably makes them cousins. I enjoyed doing this as a little sketch in a sketchbook and am looking forward to developing it into a larger painting.
